Kane Constructions is currently delivering a new state-of-the-art aquatic and community facility for northern Geelong.

City of Greater Geelong engaged Kane under a Lump Sum contract in January 2022.

The facility will replace the existing Waterworld facility and Centenary Hall which will be demolished as part of the contract works. The new aquatic centre and community hub is targeting a 5 Star certification under the Green Star Design & As-Built v1.2 rating tool, demonstrating Australian design excellence in aquatic centres.

The project will deliver:

  • A 25 metre indoor pool, hydrotherapy pool, learn to swim pool, water play area and waterslide
  • 1000 square metres of multi-purpose community space
  • Spa, sauna, and steam room
  • Gymnasium, program rooms and occasional care facilities
  • Café
  • Expanded car parking and landscaping
  • Improvements to Corio Library

The project commenced in February 2022 and construction is expected to be completed by early 2024.
