Kane Constructions has successfully completed the fitout at 308 La Trobe Street for Court Services Victoria.

Spanning 14,000m² across 10 levels, the project has delivered modern, purpose-built facilities for Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), including hearing rooms, mediation spaces, offices and common areas. Works were staged to minimise disruption, with warm shell tenancies on the Ground Floor and cold shell spaces on Levels 19–27 transformed into high-quality, functional environments.

Sustainability was a key focus throughout, with the project targeting a 6 Star NABERS Energy rating, 5 Star Green Star Performance rating and a 70% reduction in carbon emissions. The building incorporates renewable energy sources, touchless entry systems, private end-of-trip facilities and electric vehicle charging stations.

First Nations design elements, including art, artefacts and language, are integrated throughout the project in collaboration with the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation (see news story for artwork credits).

Located in a highly connected part of the city, the upgraded VCAT accommodation provides improved access to essential tribunal services for staff, members and visitors, supporting the continued delivery of justice across Victoria.
