Kane Constructions is delivering the Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation Centre in Torquay, a major community facility designed to support health, wellbeing and recreation for the Surf Coast region.

Stage 1 includes a 25-metre indoor lap pool, a warm water indoor pool for exercise, hydrotherapy and leisure, a gym and flexible program spaces, Allied Health suites, a café and supporting amenities.

Stage 2 will expand the centre’s offerings with a dedicated indoor learn-to-swim pool, an indoor splash park, spa, sauna and steam room facilities, and additional change rooms.

The centre has been designed with a strong focus on accessibility, environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, while delivering a high-quality user experience and welcoming public spaces. The development also includes new car parking, improved access paths and bike parking, and will connect directly with Wurdi Baierr Stadium, forming its primary entry point.

Construction commenced in late 2024, with completion scheduled for 2026.
