The sod has officially been turned to mark the start of works on the new Cobblebank Community Services Hub, a landmark project set to transform the delivery of essential health and wellbeing services for the growing City of Melton community.
City of Melton Mayor Cr Steve Abboushi joined Federal Member for Hawke, The Hon. Sam Rae MP, and State Member for Melton, Steve McGhie MP, alongside project partners to celebrate this important milestone.
The purpose-built, six-level facility is designed to provide a central point for vital community services, with key offerings expected to include mental health support, disability services, and refugee and family support. By bringing these services closer to home, the Hub will give residents easier access to support in one convenient location.
The project received $15 million through the Australian Government’s Thriving Suburbs Program and $4.6 million from the Victorian Government’s Growing Suburb Fund.
Kane Constructions has been appointed to deliver the project, with works in the coming months focusing on in-ground services and concrete slab pours, followed by the installation of precast columns. This will mark the first stage of the Hub’s structure taking shape on site.
Once complete, the Cobblebank Community Services Hub will stand as a vital community asset, ensuring accessible and integrated services for generations to come.
