Members of the Kane Constructions team attended the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) 2025 Charity Gala, an inspiring celebration of community, culture and connection.
Our partnership with MITS is one grounded in purpose and shared values. Since our first project together, Kane has proudly helped deliver spaces that empower Indigenous students from remote and regional communities to access quality education and live in a culturally supportive environment while studying in Melbourne.
Now in its 11th year, the annual Gala continues to play a vital role in raising funds to support MITS’ vision and ongoing programs. Kane has helped bring five key projects to life, each designed to provide safe, welcoming and culturally connected spaces for young Indigenous learners to live, learn and grow.
Our projects with MITS include:
Education Centre Fitout – 283 Church Street, Richmond | Includes classrooms, focus rooms, staff areas, and reception spaces for Year 7–8 students.
Flagship Boarding House Build – 371 Church Street, Richmond | A purpose-built senior boarding residence for 40 students designed to foster community, connection, and cultural identity.
Senior Boarding House Refurbishment – 364 Church Street, Richmond | A refurbished Victorian terrace providing accommodation for 20 students in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Girls’ Boarding House Refurbishment – 139 Richmond Terrace, Richmond | Purpose-built accommodation offering a safe and welcoming home for 18 students from remote communities.
These projects reflect more than bricks and mortar, they represent a shared ambition with MITS to create environments where Indigenous students can thrive, maintain strong cultural ties and build bright futures, all on Wurundjeri Country.
Joining MITS at their Gala allowed us to celebrate how far we have come together and reaffirm our commitment to the next chapter of this meaningful partnership.
Together, we are helping deliver opportunity, connection and community.
