Kane Constructions has been awarded the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) Phase and Early Works contract for the City of Gold Coast’s Music Hall project at Surfers Paradise.
Construction is now underway, with the commencement of works marked by Mayor Tom Tate unveiling the foundation stone earlier this month.
The project will transform the existing Surfers Paradise Transit Centre into a vibrant cultural destination for the Gold Coast, delivering a venue for live music, community events and major cultural activities.
As part of the early works, Kane will undertake remediation of the existing five-level basement structure while preparing the site for the future development of the Music Hall.
Once complete, the new facility will feature an auditorium capable of accommodating up to 2,500 people, supported by a flexible floor plan that allows for multiple event configurations including banquet, cabaret and town hall layouts. A wrap-around mezzanine balcony will provide additional viewing areas, while the venue will also include an outdoor garden space, food and beverage offerings, back-of-house facilities and upgraded basement car parking.
The Gold Coast Music Hall will provide the community with a world-class venue for artists, events and business gatherings, while helping attract national and international touring performers to the region.
Kane Constructions looks forward to delivering this important project for the City of Gold Coast in partnership with ARM Architecture.
