Kane Constructions is proud to recognise two outstanding team members nominated in the 2026 NAWIC Victoria Awards for Excellence, celebrating women who are demonstrating leadership, innovation and excellence across the construction industry.
This year's nominees, Kelsey Icardi and Michelle Johns, have made significant contributions to two of Victoria's major projects, demonstrating the technical expertise, collaboration and leadership that continue to shape the future of our industry.
Kelsey Icardi | Design Award
As Design Manager on the Twelve Apostles Precinct Redevelopment, Kelsey has played a leading role in translating an ambitious architectural vision into a coordinated, sustainable and technically complex design.
Working closely with Development Victoria, consultants and the Eastern Maar Traditional Owners, Kelsey has helped deliver innovative design solutions that balance environmental performance, cultural significance and the unique demands of this iconic coastal location.
Since joining Kane through the Cadet Program in 2019, Kelsey has continued to develop as a design leader while also inspiring the next generation through her involvement in Kane's Consider Construction program.
Michelle Johns | Project Delivery Award
As Contract Manager on the Monash Medical Centre Tower Expansion Project Enabling Works, Michelle demonstrated exceptional leadership in delivering complex construction works within a fully operational hospital.
Managing critical interfaces involving emergency services, hospital operations and multiple stakeholders, Michelle led the planning and coordination required to maintain essential healthcare services while successfully delivering the enabling works.
Her strategic approach, collaborative leadership and commercial expertise were instrumental in establishing the foundations for the project's transition into the Main Works phase.
Both nominations recognise the dedication, expertise and leadership Kelsey and Michelle bring to their respective projects and to Kane Constructions.
