Kane delivers new Birranga College in Clyde North

9th April, 2026

Kane Constructions is proud to have delivered the new Birranga College in Clyde North, providing a contemporary secondary school for one of Melbourne’s fastest growing communities.

Delivered for the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) as part of the Victorian Government’s New Schools 2026 program, the new campus was completed ahead of the start of Term 1, 2026, ready to welcome its first cohort of Year 7 students.

Formerly known as Clyde Creek North Secondary School during planning and construction, the school was officially named Birranga College following consultation with the local community and Traditional Owner groups. ‘Birranga’ is a Bunurong Boonwurrung language word meaning ‘feathertail glider’.

The purpose-built campus has been designed to provide flexible and contemporary learning environments that can evolve as the school community grows. The development comprises administration and library facilities, learning neighbourhoods, science and technology spaces, supported by extensive landscaped outdoor areas, hard courts, a soccer pitch and on-site car parking.

Designed using the Victorian School Building Authority’s standardised template approach, the campus provides adaptable learning spaces that support a range of teaching and learning experiences while allowing for future growth.

The completion of Birranga College marks an important investment in education infrastructure for Melbourne’s rapidly growing south-east and provides a welcoming, future-focused environment for generations of local students.

Kane is proud to have worked alongside the Victorian School Building Authority, Johnstaff, Architectus and the wider project team to bring this new school community to life.
